Your love, LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.  Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your justice like the great deep. You, LORD, preserve both people and animals. How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights. For with you is the fountain of life; (Psalms 36:5-9)

Today’s worship session left me wanting to build a tabernacle and live in His presence on the mountain. The presence of the Lord was oh so obvious, yet all I could do was cry. I wasn’t sad … I just felt the overwhelming love of the One who knows and loves me like no other and all I could do was cry!

Life has gotten so busy lately.  I miss my unhurried moments in His presence when I fall flat on my face and allow Him to wash over me.  I have been so busy trying to resolve issues that I forgot His invitation to “Cast (my) burdens upon (Him)”.  I have spent sleepless nights trying to accomplish deadlines instead of spending time with the One who sees the beginning and the end as one. I have spent hours poring over problems instead of seeking Him for the answers. All that and more came rushing back to me this morning … and all I could do was cry.

My God loves like no other. His mercies are new and  eternal, undeserved , yet available to all. His love is unconditional,  “unfailing … priceless!” His love purifies, heals and makes new. His love is never-ending, forgiving and complete.  He knows me inside out, yet He cleanses and heals me. All that came flooding back to me this morning too. No wonder all I could do was cry!

My prayer is that His love would be yours today. May He visit with you in a way you have never experienced before.  May He ‘give you to drink from the river of His delights’ and pour His love all over you, so that all you can do is cry!

Inventory / Introspection: Are my eyes open to those who cry in pain? Am I willing and ready to introduce them to the One who will “turn their mourning into dancing?”  (Psalm 30:11)

Personal application:  What has moved you to the point of tears lately?

Father, I am thankful for your love that “reaches to the heavens and your faithfulness that reaches to the skies.”  I am thankful that despite the times I spend on other pursuits, You are still there waiting to lavish Your sweet love on me.

I love the feeling of being wrapped in Your arms and knowing that You dance over me makes my heart glad. I am filled to overflowing with a joy that I know comes only from You and I am blessed to be loved this way.

I pray Your peace would remain with me as I tackle the tasks that come with daily living. Help me to balance my priorities so that the things of You take precedence above all else. May Your presence so fill me that it spills over so that all I can do is cry!

I pray for those who cry from the place of the pit. I pray that You will pull them close to You and pour Your love over them so that the tears they cry will come from the understanding that Your love is greater and more powerful than what they face. May they find comfort in  Your words that “weeping will last for a night but joy comes with the morning!” May they “take refuge in the shadow of your wings (and) feast on the abundance of your house”
