May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.  May He send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion. May He remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings. May He give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. May we shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the name of our God.

May the LORD grant all your requests.  (Psalms 20:1-5)

It’s almost hard to believe we are this close to the end of another year. For some, the year has brought great triumphs, for others, trials seem to have been the order of the day. There may have been days of constant rejoicing, or days of uncertainty, but at the end of it all, we can look back and see how He has moved in our circumstances. He has always been with us, even in those moments when it was hard to take the next step. He has never left you alone!  Our God will “send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion.”

There may have been days when you struggled to understand what you walked through, but in the midst of your testing, you chose to praise Him. I pray He will “remember all your sacrifices”  and reward your faithfulness to that which concerns Him.

As you wait on Him for the manifestation of the things for which you have sought His face, my prayer is that He would “give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.” I pray that you will lay your life in His hands and allow Him to lead you in the destiny He has ordained for you.

We do not know what tomorrow will bring, let alone what to expect from the year ahead, but we can rest in the assurance that the God we serve is already in tomorrow.  Rejoice in the hope that as long as you are faithful in keeping His commandments, He will make you the head and not the tail (Deuteronomy 28:13). May His favor rest upon your life. May you find peace, joy and comfort in His embrace. May He give reason for us to “shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the name of our God”.

As you purpose to live a life that is pleasing to our King, I pray that He will “grant all your requests”.

Father, thank you for taking us through another year.  I am also thankful for this passage of Scripture that offers so much encouragement, even as we evaluate where we have been and contemplate what we ought to do next. I pray this scripture will come alive in our hearts, and will be a true testimony to the glory of Your name.

We desire to live lives that please You. As You teach us Your way, we purpose in our hearts to walk as You direct us. We thank You for the help that comes from Zion in the midst of our distress, and the protection that comes with living “under the shadow of Your wings.”

We choose to live for You so that You will be glorified in our victories.

Amen.

Blessings,
ann
