Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. (Psalm 100) KJV
We are currently experiencing an early spring and above-seasonal temperatures, and most of us were pleasantly surprised at the unexpected blessing we woke up to this morning. The birds were out early and I could hear their singing long before I got out of bed. The calendar says spring will come later this week, but the birds take their cue from the One who calls the stars by name … I took my cue from the birds as I headed off to corporate worship.
The atmosphere outside lent itself to the beautiful atmosphere of worship. We sang our praises unto the Most High and danced with joy in His presence as we placed our worship at the feet of the Almighty. His gates were alive with thanksgiving to Him, and His courts were filled with the sounds of praise. Like the birds, we offered our heart-songs to the giver of life, as we left our circumstances behind and celebrated Him. It was, in a word, beautiful.
There are days when the praises will seem harder to release, when the pressures will seem closer, and when the birds would have flown to warmer places in the south. Even then, we can choose to praise, because He is worthy, and what we offer to Him is not conditional upon the way we feel.
His words say we should give thanks in everything and for everything. A good way to know how we are doing is to journal our thoughts on a daily basis. That way we can look back and see what we went through and how He brought us over.
What is your journal looking like these days? Would this week be a good week to practice thanksgiving and praise?
Inventory/Introspection: Am I singing with the birds, or am I allowing my praise to be dictated by what others say?
Personal application: Times and seasons are in His hands, but my actions can interfere with His plans. What ‘out of season’ miracle will I allow Him to bring about in my life?
Father, we are grateful that You provide us with many examples of praise. We are thankful that nature praises You the way it does, and that even the birds sing their songs to the glory of Your name.
We are also thankful for an early spring. For many, the winter brought uncertainty and dark cold periods, but thankfully, spring has come! For some, all that is visible are buds and new leaves which herald a promise of greater things, but there is joy in knowing that the season has ended, and beauty and rain will come again.
We are thankful for the Joy that greeted the world at springtime, many, many years ago. The Voice that the grave had tried to silence arose and brought peace and hope to those who waited for the promised miracle. I pray that those who yet wait will soon find peace, and that Spring will come in their lives today.
Amen
Blessings,
ann

>> “what we offer to Him is not conditional upon the way we feel”
AMEN! No matter how we feel – no matter what our circumstances – no matter what difficulties we are facing – HE is still there, still lifting us up, still undertaking for us and providing all we need . . . so NO, what we offer Him is not conditional on the way we feel.
What we offer Him is because of Who He is and because of all He has done, is doing, and will do for us.
What an amazing God!

Great truths, Angela
He is amazing and indeed worthy of our praises, whether or not we feel like it. He is worthy and all together lovely and entirely deserving of all we are, all we have and ever dream of becoming.
May His name be glorified as we live in praise.
Blessings in abundance,
ann

Thank you, beautiful Ann full of grace and worship for her King. 🙂 You lifted my heart just reading about your time of worship to Him . . .and how when we do that, all else falls aside.
Something so precious about those birds singing . . .showing the way. One morning I heard one singing near the window and it wasn’t even light out yet. That’s how I want to be . . .singing in the dark yet, because I know He’s there and soon it will be light.
God bless you, Ann, in and out of season, doing the miraculous just because that’s how He is! love and prayers!

Dearest Delightful Deb,
I love the idea of “singing in the dark yet, because I know He’s there and soon it will be light.” What a wonderful thought!
May He give you reasons to sing over and over again regardless of where you are, or how dark it seems outside.
May Spring come to you in a new and beautiful way.
Blessings

Hello Ann
Yes Spring has Sprung and we did not even expect it,that’s just like God giving us wonderful blessings while planning for so much more as we very well know. God is setting the stage for his Son’s soon return to planet earth. Soon all of the things that’s hindered our praise will be over, and we’ll join the angels in praising our God forever!!!! What a time that be it will be Spring forever “Hallelujah”!!
Love you sweet friend and thanks so much for your prayers. 😀

Hi Sister Pat
“God is setting the stage for his Son’s soon return to planet earth. Soon all of the things that’s hindered our praise will be over, and we’ll join the angels in praising our God forever!!!! What a time that be it will be Spring forever “Hallelujah”!!”
A group of us were talking earlier this week about the way the seasons have been and the changes that are happening around us. It could be Global Warming, or it could be that He is indeed setting the stage!
Looking forward to that final Spring!
Blessings and more,

Hi Ann,
I was taken aback when I got to your site today, because I was very surprised at how in sync our posts were! We quoted the same Scriptures, and even some of the comments appeared to have been taken right out of this message! What a word of confirmation! I came very close to canceling the worship session post this week. You may have noticed how late I posted on Wednesday. However, I pushed on, and I got it done. Glory to God!
The atmosphere outside lends itself to worship, just as you have created an atmosphere to worship the Lord in this post! “… we left our circumstances behind and celebrated Him. It was, in a word, beautiful.” Sounds wonderful! It is in His presence, that I experience fullness of joy! Truly, our God is worthy of praise and worship! He is my everything, and without Him I am nothing! Thank you, Ann! Beautiful post! The worship session continued here! Praise God! God bless you, as you enjoy His Manifest Presence!

Hello Minister Paulette
His ways are past finding out indeed! 🙂 So thankful how He lines up what we need to get us where He wants us to be. How cool is that!!
I’m glad you shared that session with us too. I couldn’t comment as often as I wanted to but it was great to find a place to go to hear those songs of worship over and over again.
Blessings as you praise and worship your King.
Thankful,
ann

Oh, Ann… that is just the most beautiful prayer. Gratitude is one of my favorite things to learn about, because if I narrow my day-to-day life down to the smallest gifts from Him, it’s so easy to pray with my whole heart and be thankful. (Keeps me up at night!)
One question: There is a song that fits with the theme of Psalm 100. The lyrics are, “Better is one day in your courts, better is one day in your house, better is one day in your courts than thousands elsewhere…” Your post made me think of it. It’s the song the band played when I got baptised. Does it sound familiar? Hugs to you, Ann. Thanks for helping me rememer to praise Him.
